Gel Free Nappies

100% 'Guilt Free' environmentally 100% 'Guilt Free' environmentally friendly cotton based nappies

What are the advantages of using Tushies?

  1. Tushies are an environmentally friendly disposable nappy.
This means that you have the convenience of a disposable nappy without the guilt of impacting on the environment as much as other brands of disposable nappies.

  2. They contain NO CHEMICAL GELS
The chemical gels found in other disposable nappies can affect your baby or when the nappy is disposed of, can effect the environment. These are the same chemical gels that are used in agricultural, industrial and petrochemical areas as well as a water absorption treatments for lawns. The same chemical have also been associated with toxic shock syndrome in tampons, which is why the chemical was removed from these items.

  3. They are compact and easy to carry around.
You don't need to carry much more than the nappies themselves. There is no need to carry separate liners, pins or fasteners or anything else.

  4. Pretty much everyone knows how to use them.
No folding, tucking and pinning means that putting Tushies on your baby is very easy.

  5. Tushies fit better.
Tushies nappies are moulded to fit your baby better meaning less leaks than washable nappies.

  6. Tushies are thicker.
Tushies nappies use a blend of natural cotton fibres for extra absorbency and are naturally thicker than both disposable nappies that rely on chemical gels for absorbency or washable nappies.

  7. Tushies are quicker to change, per nappy change, than washable nappies.
No folding, tucking and pinning means that putting Tushies on your baby is a lot quicker than struggling with washable cloth nappies.

  8. You don't have to scrape, soak and wash them.
After they become soiled, you can just wrap used nappies up out of sight (and dispose of them properly of course).

  9. Tushies use less water and detergents.
Simply because you don't need to wash Tushies nappies, you save on the amount of water and detergent that you would use for washable nappies.

  10. You don't need to keep replacing liners as you baby grows.
With washable cloth nappies, you need to keep buying more and more outer liners as your baby growws. Using Tushies, you just buy a larger sized nappy as your baby grows.

What is the difference between Tushies and other disposables?
  1. The absorbent layer in most disposable nappies is generally made from processed wood pulp. In order to increase it's absorbency, the manufacturers add artificial chemical absorbents such as acrylic polymer salts to the wood pulp. These granules, which are inside the absorbent padding of the nappy, turn into gel when they come into contact with moisture. This chemical gel, which has been linked to toxic shock syndrome in tampons, can end up on your baby. Tushies are the worlds only patented disposable nappy that use a GEL FREE natural blended cotton layer to achieve extra absorbency.

  2. Tushies nappies are thicker than other disposable nappies. The added padding is from the soft, fluffy cotton we make our nappies from. Tushies provide your baby with GEL FREE, cottony soft, extra thick protection. Tushies are naturally thicker because we have filled our core with high absorbency natural blend cotton padding.

  3. Tushies nappies have a soft, cloth-like cover which increases the softness for your baby whilst other disposables use a non-breathing plastic or latex outer liner.

What is the difference between Tushies and washable Nappies?
  1. Obviously the biggest difference is that that you don't need to spend hours every week washing nappies, this gives you much more time to do the things that you enjoy - like spending time with your new baby.

  2. They are hygienically safer than washable nappies because their is no risk of bacteria transfer between washing your nappies and washing the rest of your family's clothing in the same washing machine. Even the most diligent mother may not wash the nappies at a hot enough temperature to kill all bacteria.
